I'm Matthias, a PhD candidate in Management at ESSEC.
My research investigates how to ensure effective collaborative innovation in decentralized contexts. Specifically, my studies identify interventions that solution seekers can use to (1) harness support from distributed participants and (2) improve collective problem-solving. My investigations span various empirical contexts, including crowdfunding and online deliberation.

Before entering academia, I gathered seven years of work experience in the consumer goods industry and with strategy and innovation consulting firms. I have an MBA with Distinction (Valedictorian) from the Adam Smith Business School at the University of Glasgow, Scotland, and a BSc in Economics from the University of Bolzano, Italy.

I will join ESADE as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Strategy and General Management in September 2025.
